Our Cara Cara oranges are very sour

Hi --

I've been browsing this forum for advice on what to do for sour navel oranges, but not really finding an answer. Our tree is about 5 years old this year, 9 or 10 feet tall, and had a nice LOOKING crop of about 40 - 60 orange this year. My DH started picking them in late November because they looked ripe.

They were so sour! In December they were less sour, but definitely not good. January, less sour. Now it's February, and they aren't pink on the inside any more. They are sort of sweet and bland/sour, and from what I've been reading here they are probably overripe (look nice though).

I have a Meyer lemon planted about 8 feet away. The lemons are always great and it's a little older, maybe 7 years. Is the lemon somehow possibly affecting the Cara Cara?

What else can I try to make the oranges less sour?
