Rookie tree pruner mistake

Posted by aarone78 CA (My Page) on

So I need some information on a possible mistake I made. I was pruning my grapefruit tree yesterday and I cut a lot, almost all of it. Will it be okay, can and how do I save it or what?

RE: Rookie tree pruner mistake

It could be worse, hard pruning is not good for citrus, but at least it's not summer. It will probably get a good flush of new growth soon, as the weather warms up.
one thing you should do RIGHT AWAY!! get some white paint and paint all the bark to protect it from sunburn. Do that today, or no later than tomorrow.
