I have Rio Red. It grows very fast, and every other year it has a heavy fruit set. This is the first year that mine has had a lot, and I'm really impressed. It's outgrown the other citrus trees near it, including another grapefruit. I think any of the first 3 you list would be fine, and can't comment on the 4th one since I'm not familiar with it.

The more research I do the more I'm leaning towards the Rio Red. Thats the major one in Texas now it seems. Do you have any trouble with "Sheepnosing" on your fruit?

I have a Rio Red and I LOVE LOVE it!

It's just a cutting about 7 inches tall and I hope it takes off this year, but boy does it get fragrant flowers and in abundance!

Give it plenty of room, mine is much larger than the Bloomsweet, and both were planted at the same time. I may have to move the Bloomsweet, it's apparently too close.

Love my Rio Red, aslan. I have two, in fact. Does very well here and is a pretty deep pink. And, sweeter than most of the other grapefruits as well. But, I'm going to try to get Henderson budwood if CCPP offers it with the next budwood offering.

Oh great, I can hardly wait! I've been dying to get outside and work but I caught some sort of cold and I'm so congested I cant sleep and I hate it! Haha and I hope I can get my rio red soon, I just graduated from college recently and I ordered a pricey lychee tree yesterday so I'm short on funds again until I can get well enough to do some chores ;)
