Well, the good thing about lemons is they are very, very precocious here in S. Calif. Even on semi-dwarfing rootstocks. If I didn't prune down the water sprouts, I think my lemons would be 30' tall by now, lol! So, I wouldn't worry so much about standard vs semi-dwarf rootstocks. Lemons are frequenly ON standard rootstocks anyway: rough lemon, Ponderosa lemon, macrophylla. There are many great places you can go in the Los Angeles area. Sego Nursery, Bellefontaine Nursery (they get their citrus from Durling, whom I know and really like, Durling being located in my general area), and Sperling Nursery. I would go to any of those three, and you'll be well taken care of. I would suggest if you can find it, a Santa Teresa Femminello Italian lemon. Exceptional flavor, very high oil content in the skin, very, very precocious. If any of these three nurseries can order from Willits & Newcomb, one of the best commercial/wholesale citrus tree growers in S. California (located in Bakersfield), then can order you a Santa Teresa lemon, as W & N propagate this cultivar. If not, and you don't mind a little "road trip", W & N will sell to consumers directly if you drive up and pick up at their office. They are extremely nice folks.

All my "full size" Meyers came from Citrus Tree Source near Bakersfield originally. I ordered them on Macrophylla rootstock and at 3 years (okay in my climate) they are 3 meters tall and 3 meters across and produce 3-400 lemons per year.
