| I have several citrus trees that I have had for several years. I move them outside in the spring and back inside in the fall. This fall, when I moved them back in, one tree started budding until it was FULL of buds. However, they have not opened and a lot of them have fallen off. this same tree has also lost a lot of its leaves. I fed it with citrustone when I brought it in and I generally do not water more than a couple times a month (recommendation of the nursery for winter care.) this week, I put a grow light on it to see if this helps. Any ideas? |

| What kind of citrus is the tree? Also how long has it been in the pot? I know that if you don't root prune a potted fruit tree, you can have root problems. I also wonder if the tree was all ready stressed from blooming so much then it may cause the tree to drop its leaves. My mom has a large ponderosa lemon tree and just recently it dropped all of its leaves and I had her rerpot it and replace the soil with fresh soil. It is possible that the soil was depleted of nutrition. I would take it out of the pot and see what you have going on. If the roots are all wrapped around each other you may need to root prune and remember if you root prune you must prune the top, usually in equal amounts. Good luck. |
