planting citrus

we are building a new home and will not move in until next jan.
i was thinking of purchasing several citrus (differet types)
and planting them in large pots for a year or so (buy them in the next week)
would that be of benefit to the plant or should i wait at least a year and just purchase what is available at that time

moving the pots would not be a problem

Personally I would say go for it. I planted a kishu mandarin in Al's gritty mix and it is loving it so far. My vote is that you get what you want now so that you don't have to search for them later :)
