The first time my key lime bloomed, every flower fell off my tree as well. I've read somewhere that this is fairly common. Now my key lime blooms almost year around and I get more limes than I can use. I don't think I've ever gotten a fruit on any of my citrus trees the first time they bloomed, and maybe only one or two the second time. The third time seems to be the charm. Sounds like your tree is healthy and acting normal.

Not unusual for new citrus to drop blossoms, or, set fruit then drop the fruit. Even all of the fruit. And, nearly all citrus (including the Mexican lIme) are parthenocarpic - the ability to set fruit without the aid of pollinization. So, you can set your paintbrush aside :-) It is plenty warm enough, provide more light in the form of an additional full spectrum plant light, and you may see fruit set. The Mexican lime will often put out flowers all season long, so patience is a virtue, and so is more light.

Thanks all of you. I was really worried that I did something not quite right. This will be the third year I have the tree and it arrived looking like a topiary. That was a surprise to be begin with.
