What's the Story w/ Cara Cara?

So I have 3 oranges all in the same soil, within the same microclimate, They all got the same semi-neglect last year, and are having the same drought this year.
The ancient Washington ~50 yrs old tastes wonderful, sweet and juicy
The 3 year old Trovita tastes wonderful sweet and juicy
The 3 year old Cara Cara tastes awful, dry, juiceless, with an off flavor.
These trees are within 10' of each other, none of them froze badly this winter.
Is Cara Cara somehow more sensitive to something? What could have happened?

Hmmm. When did you harvest / pick them?
I am in the east bay and had one Cara Cara on my 1 year dwarf. tasted fine, but that was in late December. BTW: Its on a hill in full sun, even got lifted in the fall because it was planted too low.
