I use a small bird feather or small, soft artist's paint brush. The brush may the best but a feather works well. Do not wash either after using. Pollen can be good for several days so old pollen can still fertilize blooms. I just keep adding and accumulating pollen on the brush or feather.

Can you see the pollen on the brush? I'm not sure I ever have, and wonder if that means the brush isn't actually picking it up. jc

Citrus is self pollinating so no human intervention is needed. Outside the the bees and the wind collect the pollen but the flowers are pollinated without their help. Most all the flowers will pollinate but many will drop before you even notice this. Many more will drop at various stages of growth. There is nothing to prevent this as its natures way of only keeping what the tree can support. Andi
