Scratch the bark of the trunk and if there is any green wood underneath there is a chance. But to be honest, it doesn't sound too good, especially not watering much at all. Citrus like water, they just don't like to sit in water. Some pictures would be very helpful!

Why would you not water your tree?? Without photos, it's impossible to tell you if you killed your tree or not. Please post photos, and do the scratch test gently, to see if your poor tree still has green cambium. All trees, especially citrus trees need to be watered regularly in order to survive.

Take your tree back to where you bought it and leave it at the doorstep... if you are not going to put the energy to learn and take care of the tree, better put it on the bonfire.

Those of us who care so much for our Meyers have very little tolerance for people who know or care nothing.

Let's not be too hasty in judgment- I can see where someone might use the phrase "almost never watered" to mean "did not over water during a no growth/low light winter period."
Lots of places recommend very little water during semi-dormancy periods and perhaps the OP was trying to avoid peeps accuse him of watering too much.
Sometimes you can't win and I would hate for a poorly chosen word to cause this forum to put him off coming here for help.
Obviously he cared enough to ask.

OP- please post a photo of your tree and we will see if there is hope for it and perhaps suggest what steps you can take to save it.
Are you able to get it outdoors yet?
I know winter is hanging on here and it may be up there as well.
