I was looking at pictures that I have taken with my SLR and looked at a picture I took and I wanted to see what kind of fly it is.

What a pretty photo! Dragonflies are great to have in your garden. They are valuable predators.

I've always called this insect the Cyclops dragonfly. It's Anax junius, the common green darner.

His two big dragonfly eyes are sort of disguised in this picture, but we sure do get a good view of the spot on the top of his head!
