Shaping Calamondin?

snapks

I have a question about citrus in containers. I just repotted my two-ish year old calamondin into gritty mix about 4 days ago. I did a minimal amount of root pruning, and so far the tree has adjusted pretty well. No drooping or noticeable changes.

What I need to know is this...
Is it necessary to shape my calamondin's branches? Or do I just let it grow as it will?

Right now it has several fruits that are nearly ripe and they are rather heavy. There are also quite a few very small fruits that are beginning to develop, and I worry that the weight of the fruit as it matures will cause the branches to droop or break. I also don't know if allowing the plant to fruit so much will hinder it from growing taller.

Can someone give me some advice? The fruit sure is pretty, but I am more concerned with the tree growing well and getting some stronger branches.
