As far as I know the curry leaf plant itself cannot be infected with HLB so any plant you get will be a disease free plant. It is however a host to the asian citrus psyllid which CAN carry HLB. Unfortunately HLB is already here in America and as much as we try to prevent the spread, I think it will be an exercise in futility. The main focus should be on treatment, which so far is not known. Is it even possible to treat a tree after it becomes infected with a disease? I'm not a plant expert so I don't know much about these kinds of things or how they work.

No, Kris, once a citrus tree is infected with HLB, there is no treatment, no coming back. It is simply a matter of time (about 5 years) before the tree dies. And yes, it is a race against time for those of us in citrus-producing states that do NOT have HLB (California, AZ, for example). We're trying to save our commercial citrus long enough until a treatment or cure can be developed.

Merry, I would talk to your better garden centers to see if anyone can safely source what you're after. Texas has the Asian Citrus Psyllid, as well as an outbreak of HLB that they are trying to contain and slow the spread throughout Texas, so you're right to be careful.
