Thank you so much for posting this! My wife's entire family is from Amalfi. The lemoncello that this exact grove produces was the toast drink at my wedding last month. We had our uncle ship them back to us when he visited last fall!

Let me tell you, these lemons are serious business. They are about the size of pomelo!

Thank you westgirl. That was so much fun to watch. My family is from the east coast of Italy, near Bologna, a very different area, but still has it's lemons and special limoncello, too :-) We continue to make our limoncello, baconquest. It is the very best, I think. But then, every Italian family will say that, lol!!

I'm envious of both you and Patty having family in Italy. I'm wondering if anyone has ever eaten an Amalfi lemon as in the video? It's hard for me to imagine they are really that edible? or if the charming Italian gentleman, did, in fact, have lemon juice in his veins? I'm so curious now...

Just a quick question..

I went to the Amalfi coast 2 years ago now, and whilst i was there i went for a walk through the lemon groves. On my way back i noticed a lemon on the floor that had fallen from a tree and was on the edge of the footpath that i was walking on. I picked it up out of curiosity and got some of the seeds out when i got back to the hotel. I brought them home and planted them.. 2 years later i have a plant that is about 2 feet tall and has just started to branch out at the top!

My question is, will this plant ever grow fruit? I am aware it can take years for a lemon tree to mature and grow fruit, but i have read elsewhere that some shop bought lemon seeds will grow but never fruit. I guessed this would be a good place to ask as a few of you seem to have experience/knowledge of Amalfi lemons!
