A Meyer lemon bears all year, so you will always have flowers and different sizes of fruit. I wouldn't remove anything!

So in removing, I would encourage more flowering? Or just keep removing. I need it to get to put some growth out. All my trees are doing amazing... except this one. No dying back, or leave drop (which I prolly will get now since being replanted) It just looks really sad, like older dry leaves, not the lush green of the others. I make sure it gets light, it has everything... just cant seem to get it to do anything other than put out flowers. At one point, 50 flowers all along the main trunk.

Suzi, if a citrus tree is struggling to develop its canopy as a young tree, especially if this tree is grown as a container citrus (and entirely different proposition than what you are used to, in the ground), then it is wise to remove the fruit in order to give the tree time to establish a canopy large enough to support and develop fruit, without jeopardizing the overall health of the tree. Citrus canuck, the easiest time to remove fruit is at the BB stage, but you can remove fruit at any stage. Meyers often do not drop their fruit and will over produce. Many lemons are like this. Same with the Page mandarin. Just pluck the fruit, enough the blossoms, and if the tree is not looking like it can support that future fruit, pop those fruits off at the BB stage. Your little tree has some post-transplant shock to make it through as well, so work on getting it re-established, and then maybe in 3 or 4 months, it will be ready to support a few fruit.

I thought that it was best to remove the fruit. I will do so now... it doesnt hurt as much now being I have another one with lots of fruit on it. I just want the tree to survive and start to put out new growth. I know its in a much better medium now, so happy about that.

Sorry, didn't realize this was in a pot. Different rules. Patty knows I grow everything (citrus, wine grapes, pomegranates, apples, pears, peaches, olives, and you name it, in ground. Sorry for the assumption that you do too!

I WISH I could grow in ground! Even in my zone, if I owned my own place, I would have a heated greenhouse and grow my trees in ground and remove the ceiling in summer.
