Mites that just won't die!

I have two citrus trees on my porch, a kara kara orange and a Myer lemon. Both are in full sun, out in the open with plenty of airflow, etc, etc-- and covered in mites.

I've tried every product I could find that says it kills them, I follow the directions and nothing! They die back for about an hour, I'll spend 20 minutes catching every leave, stalk and base of the plant I can and by evening they're back.

My trees were so lovely last year, now they're very unhappy, especially my orange.

And they are mites, I can see them although they are incredibly small. Kind of brown/rusty when a whole bunch are squished.

I am at my wit's end here! Lately I've been trying just the wipe the buggers off, although my attempts are rather futile considering they apparently reproduce like little mutant bunnies. I am going to lose my orange if I don't do something soon, they're attacking all of it's baby leaves.
