On a whim I plopped a murcott seed into my garden from a bag of mandarins I bought at the grocery store a few weeks ago. I completely forgot about it until today when I was outside adjusting my sprinklers and I had THIS pleasant little surprise!

Do mandarins grow true to seed or will I get some hybrid of something else that the mother tree was pollinated by? How long do seed grown mandarins take to get fruit if at all?
