| Sure hope someone will know what is causing what I'll describe -- a shiny, dark area on a branch catches the eye and the area looks like it would be sticky, but pressing it, it is hard. One branch I discovered today actually had a drip of the substance that had solidified. The drip had a rosin color -- like the color of violin rosin -- an orangy brown. I've only seen this on the limbs. |

| What kind of tree? If a conifer of some kind, it could be resin. |
