It's really not that complicated. Use a gentle sprinkler and make sure to get everything on the surface wet until it drains out. Make sure to use a fertilizer with all the micro nutrients. Also use a loose draining mix like Al's 5-1-1 mix or his gritty mix. The water should drain through the pot, if it's not, then you have too dense a soil mixture. But even if it flows through, you don't want too much moisture to be retained in the mix. Al has done a bunch of threads on container culture usually named 5-1-1 (link below.

Most people just mix a little Dyna-gro, Foliage Pro into their water at every watering. just water from the top and it will get the fertilizer. The recommended dose is 1/4 tsp fertilizer to 1 gallon water. 768 teaspoons in 1 gallon, so 768*4 = 3072:1 ratio that's like .3 milliliters to 1 liter fertilizer ratio. now that's Dynagro, but you get the idea, very little fertilizer every time, and a full balanced fertilizer which includes all of the micro nutrients.

if its outside in full sun, then the main concern would be to not let it dry out.

I have used method two with great results, but I have lots of time and only ten plants.
