Is this normal?

I have a happy little Meiwa Kumquat that bore a lot of fruit last (my first) winter. My other citrus, all in whiskey barrels on my patio, bloomed last winter. The kumquat is blooming now. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to prevent the little fruits from dropping off? This happened a lot with the satsuma in the next pot. meyer lemon bearing nicely. I'm new. What's going on?

Typical of citrus, especially those in containers.

My Centennial kumquat is blooming now too. It's in a pot. I'm hoping most of the fruits will stay on.

Many citrus drop the 'excess' fruits that they are unable to sustain. As the plants grow and root systems expand, they'll be able to retain more and more fruit.
