Fill in branches?

This is my Key Lime tree...had some leaf loss when I didn't increase my watering soon enough this past spring. It's been fine ever since, but new leaves only grow on the branch tips. I read that I can help fill in the branches closer toward the trunk by pruning the tips...when should I do this and how much should I take off?

i WOULD NOT PRUNE ANY PART OF IT. iT LOOKS FINE. IF YOU PRUNE THE ENDS YOU WILL LOSE THOSE LEAVES AND THE PLANT WONT REPLACED THEM. THE TREE WILL PROBABLY BRANCH WHEN ITS READY. SEE WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY

No need to prune. Leaves will pop up at the nodes eventually. Continue to water and fertilize appropriately. And, if you can get your little tree outside for some sunshine, that will also help. You should acclimate your citrus trees outside during spring, summer and fall. Poncirusguy, may we ask that you not use all caps when typing? It is considered shouting on the Internet, plus it is rather difficult to read.
