Hi,
I am very new to growing citrus in a container.
I bought a Marsh Grapefruit Tree and an Orlando Tangelo Tree at Lowe's. I also have two Glen Mango, a lime/keylime tree and an avocado tree. They explained that it can all be grown in a container, however, I think the issue now might be where I am placing the containers.
I have an area that is located under the eave of my house in the back yard where the ground currently is covered with River Rock. I picked up Jack Daniel Whiskey barrels and had holes drilled in the bottom for drainage and will be placing them on the river rock. The area gets about 4-6 hours of Fl sun. My concern is placing these trees in the barrels and keeping them under the eave of the house.
Will they grow too tall? The eave is about 8' tall.
Can I somehow keep them short?
Where do I prune? Is it anything like trimming basil?
Do to space, I want to put the barrels about 3" apart from each other. Is that too close??
Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks :)
