I received your email but you have you account set up to where I cannot reply to it.
To answer your question. I would take the trees potted together and put them in a bucket of water. This will soften the rootball and allow you to seperate all the roots. Just be gentle but dont worry about being overly gentle. Re pot them in their own pots and let put them in the shade for a few weeks. Keep them moist and they should recover just fine.

If anyone else would care to help, Tiger bought one of those "cocktail" trees at walmart which are actually 2 trees in one pot. the question was, what is the best way to separate them into their own pots.
