Will Budda's Hand makes good root stock ?

One of my favorite kumquat died due to root rot. Poor thing. I tried to save it by moving it into gritty mix but it was too late. I checked with my friend who gave me this kumquat years ago. The mother plant is stil alive. Since this is not a commercial kumquat variety, I want to have some more grafted before the mother plant may accidentlly die.

Ideally, I would like to graft kumqauts on " fly dragon" for its hardy and dwarf feature. but it is not easy to come by. I might just use what I have on hand to save myself money and effect of sourcing it.

I have few rooted Buddas' Hand cutting, I am wondering if it will make good root stock for the kumqauts? Anyone knows or tried before??
