My meyer came from the nursery in a black plastic pot that I like. When I repot is plastic okay to use. A friend of mine who lives in TX told me to use terra cota because tree roots can breath better.

i'd recommend black plastic pots. terra cotta is too much breathability for citrus in cooler climates. its ok for climates that have mild/warm winters.

Well, if you use a good porous soilless mix, your roots will breathe anyway.

I am finding plastic is much better for my Lemon Meyers thanks to John's suggestion.

Great thank you. Plastic is easier to carry too.

I find that all my citrus except a Kumquat in clay pots have very shallow root system. Now I am gradually repoting them into black plastic pot. I will see how it goes.
