Strange they have been on the tree so long and have not fallen Are you sure they are ripe? Cut some open and try them; if they ARE ripe and it is only the skin that has not colored, there are tricks to make that happen; but why?

Alicia, you may just have some off-cycle fruit, which can happen when we have odd temps. Just continue watering and fertilizing appropriately, and I bet your fruit will ripen up this winter for you, and your trees will get back on-cycle. It is possible that the fruit IS ripe, as John has mentioned, but it would be very rare for this phenomena to happen fully here in our area, as we get enough noturnal/diurenal temp fluctuations to cause the skins to color up. You might see a little lingering greenish tinges up on the tops of the fruit, but nothing like folks see in areas where this is little day/night temp fluctuations (like Hawaii).

Thanks! They are definitely not ripe unfortunately. My son loves them and tried eating a green kumquat out of desperation and it was inedie. ;) We will just keep taking care of them and be patient, thanks!
