No worries, mate; the original tree was grafted onto that rootstock, which you say is strong. Pick the strongest of the "suckers" and t-bud it to whatever you want... or maybe several things you want on different suckers (commonly called a cocktail citrus. If you can't do it yourself, look for a local nurseryman to do it for you.

I was thinking about taking some grafts from my other citrus around the yard but was worried that they might not be compatible. If I do indeed have trifoliate, could I graft...

Meyer Lemon, Kishu Mandarin, Cara Cara Orange, Yuzu, Golden Nugget Mandarin, Dancy Tangerine, Key lime, Bearss Lime, Meiwa Kumkuat? Some definitely won't work? Some better than others?

Far as I know, all of those are compatible with trifoliate rootstock.

Could you post pics, I would like to see what is happening. I do not have any thing like that.

I was waiting until the suckers got nice and woody hoping to make a better graft. My father in law, thinking he was being helpful, cut off all my suckers.

Now waiting on the next set.
