It is one of the Japanese lemons used in making Ponzu sauce. I don't know that it is much favored for fresh eating; but I could be wrong. I think in Florida they sometimes sell it as a Sambo lemon.
It tastes like a lemony grapefruit. Not worth growing IMHO. I have a branch on a large tree of it and get a dozen or so fruit a year. There are lot's better than sanboken lemons.
