Citrus tree fungus help

jdmech

Hi folks-
New guy here so here goes:
First off, I have a very brown thumb when it comes to gardening.
I'm a better mow & blow guy - lol.
I have 3 or 4 citrus trees in my backyard that consist of Grapefruit, Tangelo, and Naval Orange. I have noticed for the, past few years, some sort of fungus or rot developing on the branches which initially causes the bark to dry up then split. Afterwards, the crusty dark flakes appear and the branch dies from the tip downward toward the trunk.
I can't seem to find anything online that matches these descriptions or images. Any thoughts or remedies?? I would appreciate some helpful input or advice - THANKS! - JD
