You didn't say where is your tree; but semi-circle "bites" in the tropics are normally leaf-cutter ants (Zampopo in Spanish); could also be leaf-cutter bees. Application of Sevin will stop the bees; Mirex granular will stop the ants.

Could be grasshoppers, that sounds similar to the damage they have been doing to my trees. Spray your tree with a hose and see what comes flying off. I've just been picking them off and killing them, I don't know if there is a poison that would work or not, but I wouldn't use those anyway.

I'll also add that most common, small lizards don't eat plants at all. The lizard was likely eating the bugs that were eating your plants.

Could be leaf cutter ants, cutter bees, grasshoppers (if the eaten part is jagged), or snails. Imidacloprid should kill whatever is eating the tree if hand-picking doesn't get rid of them. Bayer Advanced Fruit, Citrus & Vegetable Insect Control is systemic, just be sure you aren't eating your fruit for a bit. Follow the instructions. I try not to use this during bloom time, as well, to protect the bees.

Help. Branches are being left bare. Last week 15.01.13 I had a thriving Lime tree with new blossom and buds. This week I've got stripped branches with hardley any leaves. The buds are still there and the leaves are not on the ground so they have not dropped.
