sucker plant

Hi, this is my lemon tree. Can someone tell me if this is a sucker? if so, do I just chop it off as close as I can to the stalk? My pic turned horizontal, not sure why that happened. It's a vertical pic. Sorry!

RE: sucker plant

if your tree is a cutting or grown from seed, then that is a low branch. No need to do anything.

If the tree is a grafted tree then you need to see that the sucker is above the graft line. If the sucker is below the graft line you should clip it off or graft another variety to it to have a cocktail tree.,

If you don't want a branch that low, go ahead and clip it.

RE: sucker plant

I can see the graft union. its a sucker, cut that sucka.

RE: sucker plant

Definitely a sucker. Since it's so new you can just pinch it off with your fingernails. I did that to a sucker on my tree and I haven't had one since. Just keep an eye out for more.

RE: sucker plant
