I was given this plant and planted it in a container. It is now 2 years old and has not yet given me any fruit. Also since bringing it in for the winter it has lost all its leaves.
So questions are:
Should I prune it now?
Does it need more light>
Oh, also we recently installed new windows that are UV protection and so light does not peneatrate as well. Is there a light i can buy to help my plant (s) out.
Thanks for all the help. |

| Sue, you should scroll down on this forum and read the threads that deal with overwintering, lighting and watering citrus. There is a wealth of knowledge that will be helpful to you. I live in the Chicago area and have a Bearss Lime tree (actually more like a low bush) that I brought inside for the winter around a month ago. So far it seems to be doing well. I mist the plant twice a day and water with collected rain water about once a week. Also I have a ceiling fan that I run on occasions. I have the lime next to a window that faces ESE; so it gets as much sunlight (when the weather isn't cloudy, which it tends to be this time of year) as possible. Also have a grow lamp that helps. Hope your tree recovers and you get some fruit. I have harvested eight limes so far and still have three on the tree. Really a nice juicy lime... Good luck. Jerry |
