Meyer Lemon Crop

Cali.El

Hi: I inherited four Meyer Lemon trees which have been very generous in crop size each of the last three winters, but this year, the crop is very small. Could improper pruning the cause? Also, the leave tips are turning yellow all the way up to the top of the trees (on all four trees). I feed twice a year and water sparingly. The only other common denominator would be that I used insecticidal soap after the yellowing started as I noticed tiny black bugs (mites?) on new tender growth (this growth continues all year long). Last year, I was putting lemons in buckets at my curb because I had such a large crop. PS The California Department of Ag checked my trees for yellowing disease and they were cleared last year. Love this forum and appreciate any help.
