Whats wrong with my lemons??

Posted by reklaw31 Florida (My Page) on

Hi, I just bought a house with a mature Orange tree and a lemon tree. These are my first citrus trees and I want them to do well. My lemons are turning brown and hard and I have no idea why. Unfortunately I can only post 1 picture.

From what I've read, possibly Rust Mites??

reklaw, I have a neighbor who has a large satsuma orange orchard. Some of her oranges look brown when they ripen. She can't sell them with her nice fruit but they are just fine and we believe they are even sweeter than the normal fruit. Yours look like her fruit but may be a different disease.

reklaw, I would say rust mites. You can post more than one photo. Just upload to Photobucket, then copy and paste in the HTML string of each photo. I would contact your local ag agent for an exact ID of the pest, and get proper treatment recommendations.
