Can You Identify?? (pics)

My mom was sold this plant a few years ago while on vacation in California. She was told it was a lemon tree and it would bloom/produce in a year or two when it's potbound. It's been 7-8 yrs, and it's never bloomed. It has thorns and has grown from being a foot or two tall to about 6-7 feet. It looks nothing like my Meyer lemon I bought a year ago. Its leaves are shaped funny. So I wonder if she got swindled and it's not even a lemon tree...?
