| I grow Fig trees I started with four trees and now I have over twenty trees. The way I multiplied the number of my Fig trees is using a technique called Air-layering where I get some branches of older wood from each mature tree to root by cutting a small circle in the park around the branch and covering about 5-6 inches of the branch with wet sphagnum mos and rooting hormone then cover the area with plastic water bottle. From my experience it takes 4-6 weeks to have enough roots to support a little trees. Then I remove the branch from the mother trees, pot it and baby it in shade and semi sun until it gets established. Sorry for the long explanation. This worked good for me for Figs and my question is Can this technique worked for Citrus Trees I have a Washington Naval orange and I ordered a tangelos and lime tree.

| Air layering is a great way to propagate citrus. It's best done in the early spring on the previous season's growth OR in the later summer when the newest growth is slightly hardened off. That's pretty much the rule for all woody species. |
