Wow Mike really nice.Looks like you have a really nice set up with enough light and right temperature.I found that the warmer and sunnier the room was ,the more spider mites and leaf drop I got .Also the cooler the room the less you have to water, less work.I have one large blood orange in one of the bedrooms same enviroment you have your trees in, doing fantastic has not dropped 1 leaf and no spider mites, but boy did I have ants which I think are all dead now I hope!!! Mike how do you manage to keep ants and spiders from coming in the house?With your set up Mike you can actually enjoy your plants . In the greenhouse I only get to see my plants one time every two weeks when i water them. I find that a real drag. Speaking of watering I water the citrus in the bedroom once every week and I do not super soak it.Looks fantastic Mike enjoy .

Confused !!!

What kind of "affordable" lights can I get for 4 trees (six feet tall) in a dark garage, and where can I get them? I have shopped Wal-Mart, Lowes & Home Depot.

I use 42 watt CFLs. Granted they are not the cheapest but I find that they help keep the trees from losing all their leaves and they are even beginning to grow. Here is the website to the ones I got. You may be able to find them cheaper somewhere else. I hope this helps.

My trees out grew their bucket lights and went to the basement in a new lighting setup. All trees are seed grown except the M111 apple rootstock. I plan to grow strawberries in the the lower level so the light heat up the floor of the second level and my citrus roots are warm. 3 of my trees are tall enough to reach into the penthouse suite

In front is my M111 apple root stock and a Nagami kumquat bush to the right. The next row has my Meiwa kumquat tree with the poncirus trifoliata in the black pot. The other 4 are sweetlee tangerine trees. The small cups have seedling montmorency sour cherry trees. At ground level I have two heirloom pepper plants.
