Lime leaf sappiness and lesions

olydlg

Hi! I have a lime tree (forget the variety, I'm afraid, but it's thorny if that helps) I was trying to grow indoors, but it is dying (at least, it's losing it's leaves). I think it's probably too late to do anything to save it, but in case I try again, I'm posting some pictures of its leaves in the hope that someone can tell me what's wrong with it and how to prevent/treat it if I see it again (it appears to be infecting the other citrus I'm also trying to grow indoors). In addition to the pictures, I'll mention that the leaves are also very sappy/sticky; the sap and lesions can be washed off, but not easily, i.e., rubbing gently w/ just water, it takes a good five minutes per leaf to get all the sap and lesions off. Finally, whatever it is, it spreads, and does eventually cause the leaf to be shed (before the leaf browns or shows any other egregious signs of being ill). Thanks for your help.
