| I have an eight foot, mature grapefruit tree that normally produces normal-sized fruit. This year it produced more fruit than usual, but all are smaller - size of oranges. I flood its berm every 4 weeks and feed it three times during the growing season. The tree appears healthy.
Any reasons for the small fruit this year? |

| Could be due to several different things: very hot summer temps and not quite enough water and fertilizer, also more fruit set, which can usually create overall smaller fruit. I would make sure if your tree sets a lot of fruit next year, to increase your water and your fertilizing schedule. I fertilize at least 4 times a year here in California. Patty S. |
