Citrus going semi dormant?

I recall Meyer Mike mentioning once on this forum that he heard about someone stuffing there citrus in the closet for months at a time while he/she would just water it. Once the citrus tree was taken outside for the spring it would leaf like crazy. My question is this plausible? we know Citrus don't go dormant and don't need too because they thrive in warm climates where frost doesn't/rarely occurs and also due to the long sunlight hours so they never need to go OFF like deciduous trees in the north.

I wouldn't try it..He did say that is what he does, but I have yet to believe him..He never called me back, showed me pics, or followed through with me on how he did it or for how long..

Since I have so many trees, I was going to try it out first, In fact, I think I will experiment with one that I have and see what happens..Now to chose one that I don;'t mind if it dies if it fails...Wow good memory.
The reason why I never followed through with this is because I am still waiting on the supposed expert for more details.
It would be nice if we could)

Malarkey. Citrus do NOT go semi-dormant. Complete myth. A sure way to kill your citrus tree.

Mike, I'm doing well how about yourself? haven't heard from you in quite a while buddy. its nice hearing from you! i always learn new things from you since you grow citrus in containers anyways I'm doing this experiment right now with my key lime (thats okay if it goes this is an experiment after all) right now its leafless since your friend never proved it to you i will post updates in the spring to see what does happen. UPDATE 1: there seems to be a lot of twig dieback going on. (experiment busted? idk)
