| When we bought our home 20 years ago, it came with a really old tangerine tree. Every once in a while there will be a little shoot growing up from the base. The bunnies usuiallu chew it away. I guess we didn't pay attention and now there is a fairly large branch growing up and it is loaded with... LEMONS! |

| In many cases, citrus trees are grafted onto other trees which act as rootstock. See the PDF below. You should always remove the "suckers" from below the graft line where the rootstock and fruit tree come together. They will always be from the rootstock and will sap needed energy and nutrients from the fruit part of the tree. |
