Newbie lemon question

I am happy to report my lemons are thriving by the basement door. But one is smaller than the other by at least 4 inches and is very puny. It even has a brown spot on one of its tiny leaves (from the fungal attack last summer I think). Is there any way I can get it to catch up with the big one? I have some african violet food and houseplant food.Will it grow with houseplant food? Thanks in advance:)

Are you fertilizing it now?

What type and formula of houseplant food?

Heavy fertilizing in the Winter is not the answer, but a consistent stream of nutrients
will do wonders.

I will try to post pictures but my computer crashed and I don't how to get them on my iPad. I think I will start watering with houseplant food and see what happens.

Whoops! I'm using! Its called Miracle-Gro Liquid houseplant food for all houseplants.

Eric, you're better off using a fertilizer with an NPK ratio that is optimized for citrus as well as contain micronutrients. We can't advise about your fertilizer without knowing the NPK ratio as well as the micros. Most of our container citrus growers use Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro. This has the correct NPK ratio for citrus as well as contains the proper amount of micronutrients. You can try to cut corners, but you will not have optimal results.
