Lemons have thorns. Some lemons have a LOT of thorns (Lisbon). This is perfectly normal. And, seedling citrus have even more thorns than grafted citrus. If you're afraid of poking yourself, or if you have little ones running around, you can clip the end off. Do not pull it off. Be prepared for more thorns since you have a double whammy - a seedling lemon.

Thank you hoosierquilt. My lemons are by the basement window. I think when I bring them upstairs when they're bigger I will clip the ends off the thorns.

Well, you can do that, or you can just let it be a lemon :-) You'll eventually not be able to keep up with the thorns as your lemon grows. What kind of lemon seedling is this?

I'm not sure. Some seeds I got from regular lemons.

Well, probably a Eureka or Lisbon. I would ignore the thorns as this is simply normal growth of a lemon. Lemons are thorny, and I would probably not waste time trying to clip them, but just encourage your little lemon seedling to keep growing :-)
