Pruning Clematis

This is my first year planting clematis. These are the ones I planted about 1 1/2 months ago.
Bees Jubile
HF Young
Etoille Violette(?)
Double blue got off of ebay. They were not sure of the name
John Warren
a mystery one- tag said Earnest Markham but the flowers are purple.

I am not sure when to prune or how to. Some people I have talked to say do, some say don't. Do they regrow from where I prune or do the grow new vines. Hopefully someone will give me some information before it is actually time to do it. Thanks

RE: Pruning Clematis

This is a really good website - that will tell you what each of your clematis are - (which group) They are all listed alphabetically. Then you can go to the pruning section and it will tell you how to prune a group 2 or 3. Also maybe post your question over on the discussions side as I dont think this side is visited as much. http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-pruning.cfm

I hope this helps you in some small way. Golden
