When Do You Fertilize?

I'm in zone 6. We've had a few warm days, but it is unseasonably cold right now. They aren't awake yet and spring is still aways off. I know it's too early now, but I thought I'd ask some experts when is the best time to fertilize?

I fertilize when I prune and after bloom.
