Hi all!
My husband and I just bought our first home and I am really excited to start rescuing the garden from under miles of ivy and old growth. The house is surrounded by very tall old trees so everywhere is at least partial shade, but since we moved in this winter and I don't really know what the sun situation will be.
I have a little arbor gate on the south side of the house and I really want to grow some clematis on it, preferably a native. I was thinking of clematis viorna. I know the websites it's okay in partial shade, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with growing it in the shade and could give me an idea of how it does and how much sun it really needs. Thanks for helping out a newbie!
