Clematis coming what to do with until planting?

My clems coming this week already. I intend to pot up in a large pot but what can I do with until then? Can I keep in the house until it's a little warmer? Like for two weeks or so? Can I put in my shed? Our temps are still hovering between 40's or 50's during the day and 30's to 40 at night yet. Or should I go ahead and pot up now?

Those temps sound fine for potting up now. I might be inclined to gradually acclimate to outdoors for a week or so.....chances are if they are smaller mail order starts, they may have been greenhouse grown and would appreciate a more gradual transition.

ok, thanks gardengal! I think you're right a gradual transition is probably best. It's going to be potted up anyways.
