Please help..... Last fall I hard pruned my "lanuginosa candida" white flowering clematis all the way to the woody trunks (about 6" above ground). I am not sure if I killed it because it hasn't any new growth on it at all so far. I just bought the house last year where the clematis was already established but not certain for how long. At the beginning of June last summer it was full of blooms. I read about pruning the clematis before I did, and some sites said it was okay to hard prune all the way to the bottom but did not specify what it would happen to the vine. Zone area Holley, New York (outside of Rochester)Please offer me some hope that I did not kill it and that it will take a year or two to recover....Thank you for your help :( very sad clematis lover
