Wow- beautiful blooms! I am so excited that I didn't loose any clems over the winter, but all I have are teeny tiny shoots so far here in Colorado. It will be awhile before I see any blooms, so keep the pictures coming!

Mine has a lot of buds on it, but the plant itself looks kinda dinky.... yours is much more full and lush.. Do they need a certain type of fertilizer? I just gave it some Osmocote so far.

I did as recommended on this forum...the first couple of years prune them to get more vines. I fertilize the clematis (along with all my flowers/bushes) in February with 10-10-10 or 8-8-8. Then I try to get them fertilized again after they bloom. Sometimes I am a little late on this on!!! But I can say that following the recommendations that I learned on this forum has helped! Watering is also important. I do add pinestraw around mine to help conserve moisture.
