Aphids in April! arghhh

Hi there! I recently moved into my mom's house and she has 3 Clematis vines (unknown variety so far...) They are just starting to bud up but in the past 2 days, 2 of them have started wilting horribly. I took a closer look yesterday and saw they are COVERED in aphids! And only one lil lonely ladybug was enjoying the feast... I know there's an option of spraying off w/ the hose or a concoction in a sprayer of soap (dish ? laundry? regular ol' soap?) and water combo to spray on them, also insecticides of course but I'd prefer to do it the old fashioned way... I was wondering if someone could suggest WHICH soap works best and what the ration to water is in a standard spray bottle. I'd love to spray it today and see if I can salvage the poor things. Thanks in advance for any advice!

~Wendy
